Ian Poole has done carpentry and related work on my house (built 1756), barn (c. 1800), and antique furniture for several years. I call structures this old "can-of- worms" jobs, because just what needs to be done can be hard to figure out before beginning. Ian dealt with all my "worms" competently, in an aesthetically pleasing way, and reasonably. Jobs have included replacing termite damaged antique floor boards, re-attaching a broken desk leg, repairing a broken window sash (re-making much of it), and correcting another workman's mistakes on a barn door so that it could be opened/closed easily. He also has good ideas on needed remediation, is easy to work with, and listens to and accommodates my concerns/wishes.
